The Man Who Never Loved Anyone - Top Story.

 15:12     5 comments

There once lived a man at a mildy inhabited area in the remote part of Gatineau City, he was a strange man.

He was known by the name, "Adrian" by the only few who tried to know him.

Adrian lived in a secluded thatched cottage, some few yards from other neighbouring houses, he never married nor had any child. He lived alone and lonely but he seemed strong and undisturbed. Only fewer people got to know as be barely stayed around, he's known to often attend work, one can hardly tell where he worked.

Adrian, in his mid 30s led a secluded life of his own, he never had a visitor nor a friend for he was always eager to work and seemed to derive joy from it.

He each day's work, Adrian would boil enough eggs for himself and eat, drink some wine and retire calmly to bed.

But then, there was something about him people could'nt phantom, he had no vehicle (for he always trekked) nor any form of physical wealth but wherever he goes, good things follow, people starts experiencing unexplanable fortune around him.

So was the people around him, they never worried to know but they experienced unexplanable fortune when he joined they neighbourhood, they had their bills and major expenses carterred by a certain mogul they never even met, he was called Jaffer, some claimed they have seen him but none could explain who he really is and why he helped them, they just continued with their fortune anyways, perhaps, one day they would meet him, his full name was Matt Jaffer, as they said.

Of course, they did later meet him but who was he?

On a cold Friday eve, Adrian walked down from a street on a way leading from his workplace, his colleagues wondered why he would chose to walk always being among the rich and a principal stakeholder in the company, yet he never bought a car.

Adrian walked down the road hurrying to escape the rather cold weather then a garbage truck whose drive was rather careless bumped into his way hitting him at the same time, he fell and lost consciousness at the spot, there was a huge bang and those who witness it by chance dialled the city ambulance.

Adrian was quickly taken to a medical hospital where he was resuscitated. Only few who heard about the sad incident in the neighbourhood paid him a visit.

He was very weak, his strength was hastely failing him, he gathered a few strength and motioned on the medical doctor to come close, he told him when he was close, "I want to see those from my neighbourhood" it was granted him without hesitation for they needed him to get healed and comfortable.

There they stood around him like a family, they could see feel the pains battle with the small droplets of tears in his eyes, just as the wondered why he had asked to see them, he motioned on the Doctor again and asked for a pen and a piece of a wooden material then he wrote on it "I am Jaffer Matt Adrian," "I never had a family, they all died in a ghastly car accident," "thanks for being with me this little time."

"Oh!" They screamed, they could'nt believe it, they awed, seeing the pains in his eyes they wished they could love him more but he gave back the pen, rested his back on the bed, he breathed his last.

Always read our piece, we hope you like this, say your mind on the comment box.

NOTE: Any resemblance in name or placed mention in the story is merely a coincidence and should't be considered real.

How To Deal With The Stress On Campus As A First Year Student.

 07:31     5 comments

It feels good to arrive on campus, you have heard much about the university, colleges and also, polytechnics, now is the time to experience it.

Without much ado, a lot of meaning has been given to the word 'stress' looking on from different ways it affects us but the sum total is this; it generates undesirable effects and causes tension on us.

The Merriam-webster (online dictionary) reports stress to be "a physical, chemical or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation."

Some authorities in psychological studies has argued that even though stress is a cause of mental strain to the experiencer, it also has some good effects as it is said to prepare the body in response to danger or tasking circumstance, hence the "fight or flight" is enacted. This is called eustress, which is a form oof stress considoered normal and beneficial to the person experiencing it.

For the purpose of this topic, stress is seen as any factor which causes the weariness of mind, body and emotion to a common student, it includes activities not completely 0planned, tedious works having to be done by the student, tough schedules and enormous tasks facing an average first year student thereby gives no room for ample 0relaxation of mind, body and his/her life in general.

A lot of things causes stress on campus especially when a student is new. In first years generally, a lot of reasonable things have to be done. Settlements (i.e accommodations) has to be made, acquaintting with the new school enviroment, attending more and more lectures above all has to be made.

This leaves the average student extremely stressed out at the end of the day unlike most old students who must have known their away about the campus and do things so easily, the new student always has to ask around for directions.

In a nutshell, here is a list of ways a freshman can use to deal with the stress on campus on his/her arrival.

1. Stay close to school.

It would be best to stay (live) on campus reason being that most academic activies would be only a few steps away thereby needs no much extra stress to get at, this reduces cost and energy losses.

So, in a situation where the student has the opportunity to do so, he should the on-campus accommodation offered by his or her institution. But, if the ability to do so is not there, he should also endeavour to secure accommodation closer to the school.

2. Have a proper schedule.

Your best bet would be to assess your activities for each new day and make a proper schedule like when and how to easily go about the tasks. Know also those you are mandated to do and those you can easily skip for another day.

3. Priotize your schedule.

Yes, most times it is desirable to do so, listen for an important lecture in the hall would probably be more desirable than running to-and-fro the banking hall to make a particular payment, though it's still desirable on it's own, it's left for you to decide which one to face first before the other.

4. Face the important things first

You can still know everywhere on campus on the due time or gradually but now is the time to handle what you are there for.

Face your studies, places would come to know you gradually, don't go about looking for places you must have heard about etc without first doing the important things which you are in school for, doing so would culminate in a lot of unwanted stresses.

5. Eat good food suitable for your body

It may not have been proven or even investigated that good foods keeps stress at bay but there are some which would strengthen the mind and also calm the whole body system if taken appropriately (mind you, I am not a medical authority of any sort) but eating good food and relaxing the mind wouldo help keep stress at bay, so, don't run out of the doors hoping to catch on on a lecture without caring for your body systems.

6. Take some rest.

Probably you did think all your goals would be achieved just in day? Come off it, it's not so. At some point you would feel tired, slight head ache or any other effect, the best thing you can do is find the best way to relax your mind and definitely, self, in that way you would be refreshed on arrival and more inspired to do more things. Carrying a not too important activity to the next day or shift in time is not a bad idea but always try to do it rightly.

I believe my piece has been able to make your day. Have a blissful stay in the university, college and et cetera.

How To Maintain The Enthusiasm For Studying A Course In The University Or College Of Education.

 11:44     No comments

cheerful student
Spiced with a driving passion and confidence, enthusiasm for a course of study is what keeps a student of a university, college or polytechnic going in the strive to measure up to a successful requirement of a student.
At some points in our academic life this vital virtue is opposed and sometimes battered, this when achieved usually leaves the student wondering if he or she is on walking in the actual chosen course of his.
There are (undeniably), numerous scenerios or factors that can culminate in a student losing this vital virtue. Viz-a-viz;
  1. Losing early vibrancy: Students when they arrive on campus earlier do possess a form of vibrancy that can only be compared to a scholar (finally) realising his aim in a chosen field of endeavour, it keeps them going irrespective of the several odds they may encounter, this if not carried along throughout the duration of a course may leave the student wondering if he had actually stepped on the right soil.
  2. Developing negative mindset due to rumours: At times students find themselves listening erroneous to news, fictious beliefs of other people or students concerning their course of study, if the news or myth is disapproving (as it is often is), the student may tend to develop cold feet towards his field of academics.
  3. Lose of energy and activeness: these are vital forces that keeps us going in everything we do; they help us to focus, deliberate and execute our plans on daily basis once a student loses these qualities, (which they do for some reasons either through unhealthiness, laziness or psychological turmoil), the power of planning, focusing and achieving his or her goals starts to elude him, consequently, the student tends to lose concentration and enthusiasm on any course of study he or she is in.
  4. Low academic performance: generally, this is seen as a major factor amongst others that makes a student fatigued at just the thought of his or her academic purshuit in the university, college or polytechnic. In effect in most cases (if not all), it annihilates the student of his or her needed power to forge ahead amidst all circumstances.
Low performance in academic works debunks a student of his expectations, a student who works for and expects a Cummulative Grade Point of 4.5 on a 5 point scale and ends up getting way below 2 points unexplanably tends to suffer a weigh down in his academics, this if not properly managed may leave the student being bewildered if he is on the right track.

Having said so, a student who wants to to escape this narrow way of subsequent failure should see to it that most of these points are adressed, he should be courageous and hold the right academic belief and realistic expectation on his or her descipline in the university or any other institution of learning.
