In not more than 5 minutes, Sir Pete Ibida (Onyeonadilimma) arrived at the event in the company of his media aide. A formal introduction of the members of the high table was made by the MC, MC Roy. The MD of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Nze Uche Nworah stood up to address the audience. That was not until he had recognized Sir Pete Ibida as his 'Senior' at the College Of Immaculate Conception, CIC, Enugu state formerly.
The MD thanked the participating audience for being there, the special guests and the ABS ICT team while going on to reveal the purpose of the event. From what he said, The Anambra Creative Forum was begun in 2015, ie.. 2 years back in response to the poor reading habits perceived in the youths and also to open a channel where the average youth can communicate, get educated and interact with people of like minds, while also saying that the programme aims at harnessing the power of creativity in the youths. From his speech, he revealed that the programme had received a warmth accolade from a prominent Blogger in the state, Ms. Chisom Amanda who is the CEO of Amandachisom.net. In the video which was projected later for the delightful viewing of the participants, The acclaimed Blogger was seen in her Abuja residence and spoke about her journey so far in Blogging career. She advised the youths to get hold of the opportunity their mobile phones can offer them as she was already making positive achievements in the blogosphere Speaking on the benefits of the event, MD of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah noted that the programme would open channels of multiple opportunities to the youth while also getting them exposed to the on goings in the local creativity industry. While speaking at the event too, Prof. Okunna enjoined the youths to develop good reading habits, be a 'voracious' reader as she was during her time. She charged the youths to tap into the opportunities that modern technology could offer them unlike in her days when they didn't have such opportunities. She charged the youths to read positive things on the Internet, make use of their phones for reading electronic books and also try as much as possible to avoid being distracted. She said at the age of 12, she already identified where she was heading to and today, we could all see where she is.
Speaking at the programme also, the Honourable member representing Njikoka II constituencies in the state house of Assembly, Sir Pete Ibida (Onyeonadilimma) delivered a leading speech on the "7 Way Formular" which emphasized on the Roles Played By Parents And Teachers In Shaping their wards' creativity. Speaking at the event, Sir Pete Ibida noted that every well-meaning parent and teacher should cater for the progress of their wards. He enjoined the parents, among many other things, help their wards set proper goals for themselves, support the ward's learning style, Motivate the child and also monitor the child's day to day progress in academic performances. He also noted that a well motivated child is better equipped to face life's challenges than an unmotivated one. He recalled that during their day in CIC, Enugu, there were compulsory 'parameters' every student was monitored and evaluated with. Speaking at the programme, he said, "A child who is more motivated and relies in his abilities does not wait on fellow students, lecturers, exam malpractice or 'sorting' to pass his or her examinations but relies solely on the education that has been imbibed in him or her." He made reference also, to the likes of Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Dr. Benjamin Carson who came out victoriously despite life challenges. He urged the students to emulate them.
Also, the next person whe spoke was the MD of National Light Newspaper, Sir Chuka Nnabuife who had already composed a poem of few stanzas titled, "Today in the mid of men" right at the event, what a man! He spoke on the challenges of "Becoming a writer and an Entrepreneur" and also how to overcome them. He cited the likes of Derrick Walcot, Oscar White and the late Nigerian Author, Cyprian Ekwensi who was a graduate in Forestry management and a degree holder in Pharmacy but when on to be the writer with the most volumed number of books in the literature world. He urged the youths to emulate them.

Paschal Osubor who is A Film Maker, A Writer, An Editor and a cinematographer with the ABS Team also spoke about hus career, educational background and life in general. He talked about how he met the MD of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah and also, about his plans for the next edition of his SchoolBagToPortfolio interactive workshop coming up soon in Anambra and how the going has been going thus far. He is quite an amiable person, but he doesn't let that come between him and his colleagues.
Furthermore, the next to speak was Mr. Micheal Nwobodo who is an outstanding Animator with the ABS Team. He opened the minds and eyes of the participants to take a peep into the Animation Industry. He talked about his achievements in the industry and what he has been doing. In his words, he said, "Our work is that of giving life to any pictorial object using the power of technology." He opened the gate of opportunity to any of the participants who wants to be in the industry too.
More so, the CEO of Okwaifugo integrated Services, Chizoba Ikemme spoke to the participants, in clear terms, about his 'little' beginnings and how the going has been in the Bulk SMS industry which his brand is known for. He started alone, he said, today, he now has 8 staff working under him. He lost his dad at a very tender age, so he had to struggle ahead to make it in life, according to him. Also at the event was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Chukwuemeka Odumuegwu Ojukwu University, formerly ANSU, Uli. The CEO of CampusAmebo, Kachukwu Kachukw who spoke about how he started and where he is today. Also was in presence, a Former Beauty Queen of the State, who spoke about her upcoming youths programme at the Emmaus House, Awka on the Saturday, 28th of this month which would be featuring so many interactive and fun filled sessions at 1:00PM.

In conclusion, the Anambra State Creativity Forum 2017 was a huge success and had in presence so many dignitaries in the Oil and Gas sector, Journalism, Blogging world, Film Making Industry, Writing, Publishing and the Creativity industry as well as Students from the various institutions of learning in and from out of the state including the students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University who were in full presence at the event especially during Question & Answer Session where they, mostly undergraduates in the department of English Language and Linguistics took active part and other students from various secondary schools in the state. Also in presence was the Able Imiano, CEO and Founder of http://juspos.blogspot.com [JUSPOSBLOG NG] who was there on time to report the on goings at the event. I won't tell you who exactly he is but if you watch the video streaming online by the absradiotv.com you may be able to have an inkling. HINT: He was with Martin Beck Nworah too.

Lest I forget, The 5 Most Inspirational Moments at the show was when the presenter, Eze Onwuji, welcomed the participants, appreciated the founders of the event, MD of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah And Co., The speech by the Honourable Member Representing Njikoka II Constituency, Sir Pete Ibida, The presentation by the Dean of Faculty, Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Stella Okunna who is a double Ph.D Holder, The inspiring speech by Paschal Osubor who was a young boy at that and then came the time Martin Beck Nworah spoke! I have read some of his inspirational write ups before, so, I was not surprised meeting in the euphoria of outstanding motivational speech presentation.

A Rare Inspirational Gem For JAMB 2017 Candidates.

14:14     Inspirational, JAMB, News     No comments

As the all anticipated mock examination in preparation for the 2017/18 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME had come and gone, it is left in the heart of the 2017 JAMB applicants aspiring to be admitted into the various tertiary institutions of learning across the country to decide whether or not to get prepared for the main examination. According to JAMB news, the exam is expected to kick off in the month of May, 2017.

inspirational for jambites
JAMB UTME candidates taking their exams. source: Google.
There is no doubt that a lot of people especially secondary school leavers are on the race for this exam. This has amount to candidates wondering silently and sometimes verbally, "who will it favour most?". No doubt, this exam would favour mostly those who are adequately and sincerely prepared for it.

Besides, the 2017 JAMB UTME would come like a flash. Some applicants may leave the examination hall wondering if they had just taken the all anticipated exam. Yes, that is actually how it is. You will have to prepare for an exam for almost two months only to sit for the exam in a flash of about two (2) hours! But the ordeal is not yet over. This is because most JAMB candidates spend the remaining few hours of the day wondering how ir what there result would look like.

For some, this is a moment of unceasing prayer despite the fact that they must have offered words of prayer before and in most cases, even during the exam. To some also, this is a time of panic and uncertainty.

Furthermore, I do not belittle anyone who believes in the power of genuine prayers or anyone permitting anxiety into the situation but, I am always quick to ask, "did you do the right thing to enhance or avoid these respectively or as the case may be?" Of course, you are free to be anxious and expectant over the course of your result and even pray but is that all you needed to have done? did you prepare for the exam adequately? This is part of the questions some JAMB candidates find hard to provide answer to. It is no news that most of the candidates who registered for the examination, mostly those who are male, find delight in watching Christiana Ronaldo and the likes of Messi while their female counterparts are carried away chatting with physically unidentifiable friends on Facebook and other social media platforms despite the fact that they have such an important examination ahead of them.

Hold on JAMB UTME candidates. why do you spend all your time catching fun on Facebook when that fun can wait? Hear Diane Nyad say this,

I am willing to put myself through anything; temporary pain or discomfort means nothing to me as long as I can see that the experience will take me a new level. I am interested in the unknown, and the only path to the unknown is through breaking barriers, an often painful process.
!!
So, what is that painful process you think you are going through now because of JAMB UTME? Is it the fact that you have to stay away from your distracting friends for sometime? Be it what, I want to tell you that it is to the effect of igniting the zeal in JAMB candidates to forestall these frivolities that I am telling you to face your book and do the necessary things to enhance success in your examination.

Author: Diana Nyad. Source: Izquotes.com
Just yesterdays, we heard that the world's most loved messenger app, Whatsapp, had crashed and was inoperable, today, what is happening? I am currently chatting with my friends on Whatsapp because it has been restored to normal! The same applies to you; you have forfeit Whatsapp for sometime and face your study, there is no single harm in doing so. After your exams, Whatsapp and other messenger apps will still be there waiting for you to operate them.

Therefore, JAMB candidates, hold on and read. Hold on! Facebook will not crash if you quit it for some minutes.
I urge to pick up your books and read them. Integrate passion to what you do. See this moment as a transition stage. What you transit into is a major product of the processes you initiate today. Do not wait for the examination to be, "two days to go" before you start reading. Prepare your mind on time and be ready for the worst even though we are expecting the best. Remember, you are not the only person on this race but each individual will get an equivalent score that reflects how much he or she had studied. Be the best you can be now and make the best out of the little time you have. If you do it well, you may not return to this stage again.

Note, finally, that, the higher you go, the higher we would want to see you get. So, don't let us or anyone who meant well for you down. Go, get the right materials and set the ball rolling. Pray when it's necessary and play at times too, but always remember to do your assignments first and well.

Significance Of The Good Friday

 02:14     No comments

Today, most christians all over the world especially the catholics observe the contested day, Good Friday. It comes during the holy week and precede Easter which is the day of celebration of the rising from the dead of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Crucifix

The 'Good Friday' is observed in most countries of the world where the catholics are located. No one knows why it is termed so but some has contested or argued that the good attached to it comes from etymological form, "God's Friday" while some would argue that it is termed so because it begets the glorious celebration of the day Christ was raised from the dead.

In all, some christians observers/ tradition would choose to use the opposite. In Germany, for example, it is termed, "Karfreitag" which means "Sorrowful Friday" while also it is referred to as Great Friday and Holy Friday in some doctrines.
The Holy Friday, is usually proclaimed a holiday in most christians countries like Nigeria.
On this day, the christians faithfuls memorize the events of that took place throughout the time Jesus Christ was subjected to worldly humiliation (according to the Holy Bible) and willfully suffered and was put to death to take away the sins of the world.
On a day like this, the churches in the christians faith are not adorned in decorations. The Crucifix bearing the body of Christ nailed to the cross hung on the alters are wrapped with sacred cloths. In most churches, like the catholic denomination today, the Divine Liturgy is not celebrated.
Christian faithfuls on this day to recall the sufferings of our Lord Jesus Christ on the road to Cavalry.
On this day, the christians faithfuls recall the suffering and death of Christ through public readings of specific Psalms and the gospels, singing of hymns about the death of Christ. In most cases, especially in Nigeria, the series of these events are acted out by the various churches' youths and faithful observes.
Your turn.

What can you say about the Good Friday? How is it going in your location? Will be participating in it today? We love to hear from our viewers.

Life's Lesson: A Moment Of Inspiration With The Imiano.

 23:02     Inspirational     No comments

designed by Freepik.

On the 19th of March, 2017, we wake up to the NEWS update - Man Jumps Off Third Mainland Bridge by Vanguardngr of an unknown man jumping off the third mainland bridge in Lagos State, Nigeria. A lot of people had wondered what would have prompted such an act. Martin Beck Nworah was one of such people who had undertaken such laborious task to find out who or what must have prompted such an act by a well meaning Nigeria citizen.
Subsequent upon this, I have deemed it fit to showcase the story in the light that I have seen it. Which is motivation. What would have prompted Master Allwell Orji to jump into the Lagos lagoon? Almost everyone would have asked, is it magic? was it an unexplainable urge?
Here is a recap of the news. On the 19th day of March 2017, a man later identified as Dr. Allwell Orji, while travelling along the third mainland bridge in Lagos state in a Nissan Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), had asked his driver to stop at the third mainland bridge. The driver with little or no clue of what lay in wait for him and his young master did as he was told, only for the young man who was said to be 35 years of age to alight from the SUV, and the next, "fiaam!" was the sound when he went off, subsequently jumping off into the body of water.
Below is the photograph of the scene of the incident.

As shared by the news media
Martin Beck Nworah in a report titled, "Issues On Dr. Orji's Lagoon Suicide" on Odogwublog had tried to analyse the remote and immediate causes of the ungodly act.
According to Martin, after the news was released online, MBN communed with his "crack team" to come up with the following findings and attributed them to be the cause of the ill act.
  • Dr. Orji was a bachelor as the time of the event
  • Dr. Orji was said to have sat for a crucial examination that would enable him get promoted in his medical career but was never promoted thereafter.
  • He was a sickle cell patient.
  • He often had seizures too. So, a driver was hired to look after him while also driving him around
  • He had attempted suicide at some point earlier in his life
  • His driver was oblivion of his master's intention mostly because he was newly hired

All said and done, I want to put more emphasis on the highlighted texts.
In life most time we choose to envy people we know little about without caring to find out what internally makes them up. "I want to be a medical doctor" anyone would say, "I want to be like that person in that Utility vehicle" anyone would also say but have you cared to realize a bit of what that fellow's life is all about. Having envy for another person's achievement is not a guaranteed way to success. I am by no means saying that someone committing suicide is any means a point of inspiration to us but in everything, there is a thing to learn.
It is good to know who you really are, accept who you think best to be and work on improving more on it that using your time to envy someone else.
This is how life is; always strive to be better than who you think you have been and leave envy to it's own with time you would learn that people's outward appearance is not the only basis of evaluation. Though it's necessary.
